Cleimp 2. by hips open, i am referring to that action of trying to push your back to the pole and making sure your hips are not pointed at the ground.  what you are doing with the leg correction is actually opening your hips.

i made a comment for you on the other thread - try to put the pole more in your armpit and less on your bicep and think about trying to make the top part of your arm parallel to the ground

it might be interesting for you to try the entry from the ground that i demonstrate in the video on the other thread.  in this case, it would be doing something similar to what you have pictured, but taking the other leg to your arm-shelf first and then pushing your back up to the pole.

let me know if any of this is helpful!

Cleimp here's the video with some variations of entries into janeiro

Cleimp I don't think that it means you don't have enough strength, I think it means more that you haven't found the right positioning for the "shelf" arm yet.  "Shelf" meaning the one that stays on the pole in the move.  I'll tag you in the post that Steph made with me doing some different entrances to Janeiro - you should be able to see that the pole is really in my armpit, not at my bicep.

Cleimp hey! It’s a little hard for me to tell from your video, but how much are you pushing up from your lower hand? You want to be thinking about trying to keep your hips open (think back to pole) - and pushing up from the lower hand can help. I do see you making a correction with your lower leg - you want to think about that leg reaching back towards the back of your head, not toe to nose (more back bend vs pike forward). Hope that makes sense!!

😍😍😍 this is gorgeous! I too was going to mention your ending - love that addition! One of the things I try to make sure to do with choreo is make it so that you can go at whatever tempo feels good for you!!

jamimah Sorry for my delayed response and for the confusion. I think I meant to say that you want to think about the pole dividing your back so that your upper body is on one side and hips/booty on the other side. (The pole will sit diagonally across your back). Hope that helps!

jamimah here is the deliv’s elbow video!! As you can see I am making sure to keep the pole entirely across my back and not near my glutes. I am really pulling the top leg across my body so that I end up diagonal compared to the ground. Hope this helps!

Hey! The only way I have ever been able to get into this move is aerially! I have never been able to get it from the ground. That being said, I thin that the trick for you might be to focus on getting your booty to the other side of the pole so that the pole goes diagonally across your back. This should allow you to find more grip and less slide! I will load a video of myself - you can see I sort of sweep my hips across the pole. Hope this helps!
