Espi yasss this is where it all begins!! :) Excited to help you towards this one! Okay - first I need pole terminology clarification lol I think I know iguana as something different. What is the iguana shape you are referring to?

Kristýna Nikodímová always so beautiful!! And I loved all the things you did from genie! So fun!! Thanks for sharing! <3

Hi Sammie Jane glad you embraced the intense-ness of this one :)) I do think if you continue with it, you'll love the effects of it!

Back leg turning in when engaged - YES that's exactly what should be happening! Our back leg in overspills naturally turns out because it's a way for our body to "make it easier" as it allows us to surpass stretching one of our biggest hip flexors (our psoas). Working that back leg through turning in and turning out ensures that we're stretching allll hip flexors which will allow us to reach even deeper splits on the floor and pole :)

Strap loosening - the one I demo-ed with here does the same. I think I explain somewhere in this video that I hold the tail at my hip bone to ensure it doesn't slide. I know some students have straps that have like an anti sliding system lol so that may be an option to purchase!

Hope all of this is helpful!

Annie Helpling oh yes I have seen this!! But gosh I don't know if I've ever tried it. Let me experiment with a band drill. Do you happen to have a trusted spotter around at any point when you're training this? A hold around the hips could also work wonders too!!
