My general rule of thumb is anything that when we're trying to PROGRESS, a minimum of 3 times/ week (4 is better). Anytime that we're trying to MAINTAIN a certain area of flexibility, you can probably get away with 1-2 times/ week depending on your training age (the longer you've been in training, your body with "hang on" to its current flexibility levels a little longer).

SO for your stretch program... I would recommend deciding if there is one area of flexibility that you want to prioritize (backbend or splits)?

THEN building your program from there.. do you have the time to dedicate 3x 30-40 min back sessions and 2x 30 min split sessions per week or does it need to be less?

Let me know what your thinking so far?!

So happy you enjoyed this one John! Thanks for commenting!

The calf version looks amazing on you, John! But yes, I want to help you with the ankle version… Can you post a video of you sliding when you try to grab the ankle? It might be happening because the inside arm is not squeezing hard enough into the pole or because you’re not doing enough external rotation when you grab the ankle before straightening the leg.
