With this weekā€™s theme of LAYBACKS, I wanted to share a layback combo that I did with my in person student Elsa today! Iā€™ve linked tutorials to all the individual elements of the combo:

- Airwalk (tutorial for beg, int, and adv options https://polewithsteph.com/programs/beg-int-adv-tutorial-airwalk-fairy-walk-dfdb79)
- Reverse grab spin https://polewithsteph.com/programs/beg-combo-tutorial-front-back-hooks-barrel-roll-reverse-grab-spin-73c325
- Climb to cross knee layback https://polewithsteph.com/programs/beg-int-tutorial-layback-cross-ankle-and-cross-knee-acfbf2
- Closed Scissors https://polewithsteph.com/programs/int-tutorial-non-inverting-combo-tutorial-cupid-genie-gazelle-martini-scissors-03bbf8

Anyone else up to give this one a try?

Revisted some of my favorite bird of paradise drills this morning! There is ALOT of content on this app to help you start training the flexibility and strength for this move AND to help you achieve this move on the pole. Go to ā€œcatalogā€ and simply put ā€œbird of paradiseā€ in the search bar! And remember to do as much as you can on your ā€œ2nd awesome sideā€! šŸ˜‰ Itā€™s important to keep your body as balanced as possible when training these extremely difficult moves! https://polewithsteph.com/catalog/search?search=Bird+of+paradise

Speaking of inverts!! I wanted to share with you all my very first invert about 9 1/2 years ago!! My pole mom said I wasnā€™t ready (she was right) but I was determined so I bought my own pole and tried (it was sketchy šŸ¤£) but I was so freakin happy about it! šŸ˜‚šŸ˜…šŸ’ŖšŸ¼ā¤ļø Inverts are hard and take manyyy years to develop. Take this weekly challenge and make it an ā€œevery time I do an invertā€ challenge bc itā€™s what you do consistently thatā€™ll have the most impact on your practice!! ā¤ļø

Hi students!! Since this week is all about inverts and I've had two of you ask specifically about micro bends in inverts, here's an additional drill I filmed awhile ago for a specific student but is still a favorite to this day! I hope some of you try!Ā https://youtu.be/KVs6X8KgLx0?si=p_b_KPLXO4He9Dty

Your Weekly Challenge!

This week's tutorial is all about Inverting. I know I know... not a pretty Instagram shape BUT a fundamental skill that'll help GET YOU TO your new favorite instagram shape :))

Your challenge: 1) Watch the tutorials! Because there are different levels included in this challenge, you do not need to mark all videos as "watched". However you do need to follow the other below requirements to be eligible for the June Prize :)) 2) Try 1 or more of the tutorials (invert conditioning, invert without the classic invert, clean up your invert to leg hang, forward spinning inverting, backward spinning inverting)! Lot's to digest this week. As always, please ask questions and post your videos for feedback. I'm here for you!!!
